You’ve Made My Day
And so encourage each other and help one another, just as you are now doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Have you ever had someone tell you something and it changed your whole day? Or even better, have you ever had someone tell you something that changed the course of your life. Perhaps, it was just some encouraging words on a hard day or maybe someone shared their story or life experience. Words can be powerful tools to change our outlook on life for both better and worse. People seldom think of encouragement as a gift because it seems so ordinary. But it isn’t. Encouragement is actually quite rare, because it is seldom given but yet it is so valuable because it has the ability to make a days or lifetimes worth of difference.
God’s Word tells us to encourage one another and build each other up. This means we should use our words to honor God by showing love to others. Encouragement makes the perfect gift, and here’s why:
- It’s free. 2. It requires no shopping. 3. It doesn’t have to be wrapped. 4. It can be custom-designed. 5. It doesn’t require batteries. 6. It will last a lifetime. 7. It can change the course of someone’s emotional and physical well being.
People need three A’s; affirmation, attention, and affection. When we learn to care about the people around us, then we are a walking testimony of God’s goodness. Why not try it out today? Go ahead and have fun making someone’s day!
