Your Story Isn’t Over Yet
And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
If you’ve ever driven past a construction site, you know that things often look messy during the building process. I find this a helpful image when I think about our lives as followers of Christ. Just as a building is under construction, our lives are being shaped by God’s Spirit, making us more like Jesus. This process can sometimes feel messy and difficult. After all, we’re in a spiritual battle, and just like in any war, there will be casualties. There will be times when we fail or sin, and in those moments, the enemy can whisper lies of defeat. But even then, we have the power to speak life over ourselves, remembering the truth of Philippians 1:6: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
You may feel stuck, unworthy, or forgotten—but God is still writing your story. Even when things feel messy or incomplete, God is still at work, and He will finish what He started. Your weakness doesn’t disqualify you; your surrender qualifies you. Keep walking. Keep trusting. God isn’t done with you yet.
Prayer for today: Thank You, God, that my story is still unfolding. You have never given up on me and because of that I have strength to stay on the path that You have shown me. Help me not give up in the middle. I believe You will finish what You started in me. Amen.
