You Will Reap What You Sow
Whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone, especially to our Christian brothers and sisters. Galatians 6:10
The Bible is a book of principles. The principle of sowing and reaping is just one of them which has a visualization that everyone can understand. Sowing and reaping have both positive and negative aspect. Negatively speaking, if we sow to satisfy our sinful desires, we will reap a life of heartache and sorrow. Positively speaking, if we sow to please the Holy Spirit, we will reap a life of blessings and eventually everlasting life.
This principle is played out in almost every aspect of our lives. It is true physically. If we abuse our bodies through the things we eat and drink and by how we live, we will eventually reap poor health. Yet if we take proper care of our health, we will avoid, not all but many unnecessary sicknesses.
This principle can also be applied emotionally. If we allow our minds to be filled with negative thoughts, we will become very unhappy person. Yet if we fill our minds with things that are pure and lovely, we will experience God’s peace. Remember the words written in Philippians 4:8. It says ‘Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.’
It is also true financially. If we waste our money and use it inappropriately, we will often find ourselves coming up short. Yet if we use wisdom and practice self-control in our spending, God shall see to it that we will always have adequate resources for all of our needs.
Lastly, it is true spiritually. If we neglect our relationship with God, we will be overcome with various types of sin. Yet if we consistently make investments in our spiritual walk, we will find our character being molded and we will become more like our Savior.
