Winning
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. II Corinthians 12:9
Imagine with me a small person attempting to fight giants surrounding him. Who do you think would win this battle, the small person or the oversized giant? The winner of this scenario may seem obvious however, when it comes to spiritual battles the answer is always the less likely to win. In today’s verse we find the answer “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I’d rather boast that it was God who created this miracle than ever take the credit knowing that I am but man.
God simply wants us to surrender our inadequacy to him so that He can fill us with His strength. The moment we decide to let go of our pride and admit that we are weak, we open ourselves to receiving God’s grace, and we are able to depend on Him for strength. If you are in any storm or challenge right now, I encourage you not to have the pressure on yourself. The reason why we often fail at our personal battles is because we don’t consider the source. Instead we rely on the wrong strength, our own limited capabilities. But when we boast about our weaknesses and allow Christ’s power to rest in us, overcoming the giants of our life will no longer look like an impossible feat. But by God’s grace, which is sufficient for us, we will claim victory against our daily battles.
Our weaknesses don’t matter at all when we know where to find strength. In God.
Prayer for today: Dear God, today I will not stress. Instead I will choose to rely on the strength which You provide. I know that You are perfect in my weakness. Amen.
