Whose Load Are You Carrying?

Whose Load Are You Carrying?
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
Recently I was leaving the supermarket and noticed an elderly woman loading packages into her car and I wanted to help. In this moment I thought, ‘Whose load are we carrying?’ Truth is life has dealt us a hard hand, but if we unload the troubles God did not ask us to carry then we’d find room for to pick up that which He has asked us to do. So whose load are you carrying? What selfless act can you do to help ease the weight others are carrying during these times?
We read in Matthew 11 Jesus said, `For my yoke is easy and my burden is light` (Matt 11:30), is this what He was talking about? A yoke is easy when it fits the animal for which it was designed for. This yolk becomes comfortable and does not wear down. Jesus can say that His yoke for us is easy because He has made it to fit us.
Sometimes we can be burdened with `bags` that we have put on ourselves. Jesus has given us His yoke to carry the load that He wants for us, so that we can be walking in what God is calling us to do.
Prayer for today: Comforting Father, help me to lay down anything You are not calling me to do so I can be more available to do what You are calling me to do. Amen.
