While Supplies Last
Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Isaiah 55:6
There are two sides to every late. Yesterday we looked at the marketing strategy “While supplies last.” It’s a marketing strategy designed to create urgency and exclusivity. If you want the coveted red cup, you better act fast because once it’s gone, it’s gone. However, we understand that when it comes to the love of God we cannot exhaust it, His love will not run out because somehow everyone else has gotten to it before us.
Now, using this same strategy today let’s consider the ‘lens’ through which we see when it comes to eternity. How often do we see life through this same lens? Opportunities come and go, some with a clear expiration date and others fading quietly without fanfare. “While supplies last” reminds us that some things are fleeting, and if we wait too long, we might miss out.
The same principle applies to our spiritual lives. Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.”
This statement isn’t meant to scare us but to highlight the importance of living with spiritual urgency and always living with eternity in mind. God’s grace and presence are always available, but the window for responding to Him in this lifetime is limited. We’re not promised tomorrow.
The enemy often tries to lull us into procrastination. “You can get to that later.” “There’s plenty of time to work on your relationship with God.” But the truth is, the call to seek the Lord, to live fully for Him, is a “while supplies last” opportunity.
Consider the areas in your life where you’ve been waiting:
- Waiting to forgive someone.
- Waiting to take that step of faith God has been nudging you toward.
- Waiting to draw closer to God.
What if “later” doesn’t come? What if the time to act is now?
God’s blessings and opportunities are abundant, but some are only available in the present moment. Just like that red cup, you don’t want to miss out because you thought there would always be more time.
Reflection Question: What is one step of faith or obedience you can take today, knowing that some opportunities are only “while supplies last”?
Prayer for today: God, I thank You today for the reminder that all I need is found at Your feet. Lord, thank You for reminding me of the urgency to seek You today. Help me not to put off what You’ve called me to do. Open my eyes to see the opportunities You’ve placed before me and give me the courage to act now. May I live with a heart eager to seek You and respond to Your calling, knowing that each moment with You is precious and irreplaceable. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
