Use Your Key
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17
According to the Merriam Webster dictionary the word ‘key’ has over 30 meanings. This means the word ‘key’ can be used in many ways because there are many types of keys in the world. For example, a group of islands are called keys, like those located in the South at the Florida Peninsula. You could also jot down ‘key’ points as you sit through your history class. There are certain ‘key’ steps which must be taken in order to visit the President of the United States. There are keys that are used to unlock your office in the morning. There are very important keys one must know when playing a musical instrument.
As you can see, a key is a wonderful thing, but placed in the wrong hands, or used in the wrong way, it can become a dangerous thing. For instance, the key to the vault in the hands of a bank teller is a good thing. On the other hand the keys to the vault in the hands of a criminal becomes a dangerous thing.
Moral of this story – like most things in life, a key is simply a tool that can either be used or abused. That means the key isn’t necessarily the problem, it’s the user of that key which must be understood.
This means we should be wise when using our key. With Christ, there is real freedom and boldness in life. Claim it and receive it then laugh dance and celebrate, all the while praising God and thanking Him for his grace!
Prayer for today: Lord and Savior, what a privilege it is to know You and the power of Your resurrection. We trust in You to know that we are guided by Your Holy Spirit and with His guidance we can make good godly decisions. Help us to rely on Your wisdom daily as we need Your help. Holy Spirit guide us and counsel us and cause us to do great exploits for Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
