Turning Hearts Back
The LORD says, “Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are one of the smallest towns in Judah, but out of you I will bring a ruler for Israel, whose family line goes back to ancient times.” Micah 5:2
Before the King would come, God promised a renewal of relationships, a softening of hearts, a returning of families to one another. The preparation for Christ wasn’t just spiritual; it was relational. This shows us that God cares about unity, reconciliation, and healed hearts. When He prepares His people, He also restores what has been broken.
Advent is a season when God often brings to mind relationships that need healing unspoken hurt, old wounds, distance, misunderstandings, coldness.
The coming of the King always brings restoration. His kingdom is marked by forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace.
Where might God be inviting you to soften your heart?
Where might the Spirit be prompting you to seek peace?
This is preparation for the King.
Prayer for today: Lord, soften my heart wherever it has grown hard. Heal my relationships where they are strained or broken. Make me an instrument of Your peace, and prepare me to welcome Your love more fully. Amen.
