Transform Your Thoughts
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Isaiah 55:8
God is perfect; we are not. God is wise; we are fleshly. God is all-powerful; we are weak. God is never ending; we have but a few years on the earth as He allows. The truth is God is beyond us and all that we can ask, think or even imagine. When we think of God, we should remember that His “thoughts are not [our] thoughts”, and “neither are [our] ways [His] ways.” We can appreciate this as it’s written in Isaiah 55:8-9 taken from the New Living Translation “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
There is nothing God gets from us that He can’t get better from Himself, yet, He still loves and pursues us. God is definitely love, and this makes us want to know and be amazed by Him.
God is beyond us, like the end of the universe is beyond the earth. Trillions of light years separate the boundary of limitless space and bright burning stars, yet it all falls under God’s hand. We should be careful to remember this when we speak of Him.
I don’t know about you, but this is a constant challenge. Everything in me wants to know how, why and, most importantly, when! But the God of the Bible doesn’t seem to want to answer these questions and is definitely not willing to be boxed in by the constraints of man’s logic. Instead He calls us to a transformation of the mind. He asks that we use our faith to see His move and in obedience walk in His ways. Today I implore you to dismiss the voice of logic and trust the mind of God.
Prayer for today: Dear Heavenly Father help me to trust in Your wisdom and not my own. The entire universe remains in Your control so I ask that you teach me to see my life from Your perspective. I claim a renewed mind and eyes, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
