Trample Your Enemy
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Psalm 91:13
Psalm 91 verse 11 indicates God would use His angels to protect those who believe in Him. However, it is not intended to be used as an obligation for God to keep anyone safe from harm, all the time, and in all circumstances. No! We must remember that we have an adversary, Satan who is on the watch 24-hours a day trying to take us down, but we should not fear because Luke 10:19 tells us ‘Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall injure you’. As children of God, we have been given authority over the enemy. He does not have authority over us!
However, our authority over the enemy is not automatic. Psalm 91 verse 13 says “We will tread on the lion, the young lion, the cobra, and the dragon?” What does tread mean? It means we will trample. We will stomp on the “lion problems”— which are bold and loud—that come out in the open and hit us face-on. God says that we will tread on them—they will not tread on us.
We will trample the “young lion problems”—those which are small but come against us to harass and destroy gradually. Those subtle negative thoughts cast them out!
Walk over the “cobra problems”— those that seem to sneak up and swallow us whole. They are what we might call an undercover attack—God takes care of those too.
We can defeat the “dragon problems”—those that seems real but you know to be fictitious or extinct—like a dragon—these problems are a figment of your imagination and should be treated as such
Zach Williams sings ‘I’m no longer a slave to fear, for I am a child of God’ – watch the video here. No longer are we to put up with the fears that once gripped our hearts and left us powerless at the sight of evil. God has given us His Power of Attorney, and these problems now have to submit to the authority of His Name. Trample over the plots of the enemy in Jesus name!
