Time out
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
On game day, most competitive sports have a time-out and this can happen at time point during the match. Mainly it is used when a team begins losing to their opponent. Most coach’s call for a time-out. Rather than leave their team out on the field facing discouragement and distraction, the time-out serves to remind them of their strengths and refocus them on their strategies.
During times of stress and conflict, God calls us into His comforting care. In His arms we can take a time-out.
Time to stop.
Time to breathe.
Time to get lost in the Word of God
And, time to pray.
During your time-out draw close to God and bask in His faithfulness and affection. Do not allow this chaotic season of life to alter your connection with God. Stay connected to God. Jesus already paid the price for us to have a steadfast relationship with God. Whether the stress of a situation remains or is removed, our souls can find rest in Him.
Prayer for today: Dearest Father, Yea though I walk through the shadow of death, I have nothing to fear. For You are with me. I believe that Your rod and staff brings me comfort. I ask today for Your strength to let go and leave all my cares into Your loving hands. In Jesus’ name I ask it, Amen.
