The Peace of God Day 3
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
Life has a way of weighing us down. Whether it’s the demands of work, the struggles of relationships, or the worries of tomorrow, weariness often creeps into our hearts. But Jesus gives us an invitation that is both simple and profound: “Come to Me.”
He doesn’t promise a life without challenges, but He offers something far greater—a divine exchange. When we bring our burdens to Him, He trades our weariness for His peace. Jesus invites us to take on His yoke, which is not heavy with anxiety or fear, but light with grace and love.
Notice, too, that Jesus says to “learn from Me.” His gentleness reminds us that rest and peace come not from striving, but from surrender. In our surrender, we discover the deep soul-rest that only He can provide—a peace that refreshes and renews us.
Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your gentle invitation to come to You. I bring my weariness and burdens before You, trusting in Your promise of rest. Teach me to walk in step with You, to release my striving, and to lean into Your peace. May Your rest renew my soul and remind me of Your faithfulness. In Your name, Amen.
