The Peace of God Day 1
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
Today begins our 21 days of prayer and fasting today and it’s going to be an incredible few weeks as we lean into God. As we embark on these 21 days of denying the flesh and feeding the spirit, let us center our hearts on the peace of God.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
In this verse, Jesus offers us something extraordinary—His peace. It’s not a fleeting, situational peace like the world gives, tied to circumstances or temporary comforts. Instead, His peace is eternal, rooted in His presence and promises.
Today as you meditate on His Word, think about the context of these words: Jesus spoke them to His disciples on the eve of His crucifixion. He knew the trials they were about to face, yet He reassured them with a peace that transcends understanding. This is the same peace He offers us today. It’s a peace that calms the storm within, even when the storm around us rages on.
As you fast today, reflect on areas of your life where you’ve been striving for peace through worldly means. Surrender those areas to Jesus, trusting in His ability to provide a peace that is unshakable.
Take time to meditate on the phrase, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Inhale and say “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Exhale as you receive God’s peace
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your peace. In a world filled with uncertainty and chaos, help us to anchor our hearts in You. Teach us to trust Your plans and to release our fears into Your capable hands. May this fast draw us closer to You, so that Your peace reigns in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
