The Joy of God’s Presence
I said to the Lord, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” Psalm 16:2
In Psalm 16:2 David confesses that God is his Lord. He demonstrates a personal relationship with the Lord. His faith is anchored in God. He declares that life is nothing without God. This reminds me of a New Testament verse, James 1:17 where James says “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights….” It is true, with God life is good, and apart from God there is no true life.
Today, are you experiencing the joy of God’s presence? It is good to acknowledge that every good thing comes from God. Not only does God provide protection, but He also fills us with joy. The psalmist finds contentment in God’s presence, recognizing that true fulfillment comes from knowing and trusting Him.
Take a moment today to thank God for His presence and generosity.
Prayer for today: Lord, I thank You for every good thing in my life. I acknowledge that You are the source of all blessings, and I rejoice in Your presence. Teach me to recognize Your goodness in all things. Amen.
