The Inner Man

The Inner Man
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Ephesians 3:16
If we do not consume food for long periods of time the body will produce some hormones that will make us feel as if we are full and shortly thereafter we will not feel hungry. This, however, is only a temporary feeling. Prolonged hunger might lead to starvation, and, our bodies lacking essential nutrition, start implementing mechanisms of apoptosis for basic building blocks. Just as the physical man (outer man) needs physical food in order to sustain life, so does our spiritual man, needs spiritual food in order to sustain life.
The follower of Christ has strengths available to him that are not connected with muscles, health, money, or abilities. It is a strength that is found in “the inner man” – a spiritual strength in the invisible part of you. Spiritual food is God’s word. Through regular and consistent feasting of spiritual food and regular prayer life, our inner man is being renewed day by day.
This day be encouraged to keep on feeding the inner man. Strengthen the inner man and strengthen your faith. I pray that like David we will continue to thirst for God and long for Him to feed you with His word.
