The Horse and It’s Rider
Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke saying: “I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea! Exodus 15:2
Can you imagine how happy the Children of Israel were when they saw their enemies being tossed into the sea? Can you imagine the shout of praise that came after witnessing the ocean opening up and swallowing your enemies? Wow! It was God alone who saved them from their enemies, and so God, and no other, received the praise. They sang praises to their God displaying His awesome power in their deliverance. Moses intended to give God all the praise for this victory and to delight in Him as his Savior and King. As soon as the Egyptians were destroyed by God, Moses immediately led the people into a song of praise.
Moses turns his eyes to the hills and they begin to lift their voices in praise! This is where we find today’s scripture. Exodus 15:1-2 says, “Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke saying: “I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea. The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.”
Today, take delight in your praise to God for He is worthy. Let us praise Him for who He is, for His unmatched power, majesty and glory.
Prayer for today: Thank you Father for the blessings you have bestowed on my life. You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined. You surrounded me even when I felt like I was left alone. You continue to lend me Your strength. For that I will forever will praise You. Amen
