The Great Mystery
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9
How do you know what love is? Who can deny its existence? After all we cannot see it, but we know it exists. And the source of love is God. ‘Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions’ (Ephesians 2:4-5).
God’s Word tells us that mankind was created by the hand of God but separated from Him by sin. To reconcile us back, Jesus the Christ was crucified over two thousand years ago. Here was a man, sent by God, to communicate God’s love to us all. This He did in word and deed, even to His death. He was the human form of God, who took upon Himself the weaknesses of humanity, overcoming sin in purity and righteousness.
Many would say they can’t believe or won’t believe. Many more are ignorant that the way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. Many don’t care. But God cares. He made a way where there was no way to come to Him and receive the gift of life; the abundant life promised by Jesus (John 10:10). However, God is still God. Jesus did what He did, and salvation comes only through the cross. That’s the truth, and truth cannot be changed because of unbelief. Truth is truth.
There’s a glorious resurrection awaiting those who believe. This is the great mystery revealed to those of us who accept this as truth the moment we believe. An eternity with the Father that no human mind can even begin to understand (1 Corinthians 2:9). The Lord God Almighty is there. Jesus Christ is there, and a place is being prepared for you. Would you reach out and receive it, the free gift of eternal life?
Prayer for today: God, I thank You for Your truth, for the privilege of knowing Your mercy, Your grace and Your love and for the freedom which comes from accepting the reality of Your presence. Amen.
