The Earth is the Lords
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. Psalm 24:1
Psalm 24 verse 1 teaches us this one powerful truth, all that we are and all that we have belongs to the Creator. The King of Glory is not just any king. He made the heavens, the oceans, the soil beneath our feet. Everything belongs to Him including us. This reminds us of His authority and power, and why His coming is so astounding: the Creator steps into His creation to redeem it.
When we understand this powerful truth then we can find rest in today. Understanding that our struggles, our problems, the things we are facing are not for us to fix, instead they should be handed over to God.
Psalm 24 reminds us that Jesus is no ordinary king. He is not a regional ruler or a spiritual mascot. He is the Lord of the universe, sovereign over all creation. And yet, He humbled Himself to walk our roads, carry our pain, and wear our shame.
The earth is the Lord’s. Everything in it. Everything that breathes. Everything that moves. All creation belongs to Him, not as a landlord or a distant owner, but as the Creator who formed it with intention and love. Nothing we see is truly “ours.” It’s His. And that includes us.
So, how do we respond to this King?
We bow. We worship. We surrender. If the earth is the Lord’s, then so is my heart, my time, my future. I do not belong to myself, I belong to the King of Glory, who gave everything to bring me home.
Prayer for today: Lord, You are the Creator of heaven and earth all things belong to You. Thank You for being a King who comes close. I lift my eyes to You, the Maker of heaven and earth. Come, King of Glory, and reign in me. Amen.
