The Battle We Fight
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
The spiritual warfare we face is real, and it is relentless. The enemy’s primary goal is to lead us astray, away from the truth of God’s word, and to keep us bound in fear, doubt, and confusion. God’s word describes the enemy as “a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). This paints a vivid picture of an adversary who is desperate, prowling, and ever-watching for opportunities to attack. The attacks may come through temptation, discouragement, fear, or even direct opposition in our lives, but the source is spiritual.
In this war for our peace, joy, and spiritual vitality, God has not left us defenseless. Through prayer, faith, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we can withstand the attacks of the enemy. Be aware of the spiritual nature of your battles today. The enemy may roar loudly, but remember that God has already won the victory through Jesus Christ. Let your strength come from Him, and you will overcome.
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank You for being an every present help. You are my Source! I surrender my will and my way to Yours. Use me as You see fit. Amen
