Strengthened in the Inner Man
That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man. Ephesians 3:16
Our inner selves, the core of who we are, often bear the brunt of life’s demands. Yet, in the midst of it all, the apostle Paul’s words in Ephesians 3:16 bring a message of hope and renewal. “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.”
Just as a building needs a strong foundation, we need inner strength to navigate the storms of existence. So how do we nurture the inner man? By feeding him with the spiritual food. Spiritual food is God’s word. Through a regular and consistent feasting of spiritual food and a regular prayer life, our inner man is being renewed day by day. This strength doesn’t come from our efforts alone; it’s a gift we receive from God. True strength is not in our might but in the working of His Spirit within us.
Prayer for today: In those moments of uncertainty and doubt, strengthen us, Lord. Let Your Spirit infuse our inner beings with resilience and courage. May we draw from the well of Your power, finding in You a refuge and a source of unwavering strength. Amen.
