Strength in Unlikely Places
But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
We live in a world that tells us strength is in appearance, charisma, intelligence, our finances, or perfection. But God tells a different story. In God’s Kingdom, it’s the overlooked, the underestimated, and the unqualified who often become the most powerful vessels of His work.
Think of Moses—slow of speech, yet called to confront Pharaoh.
Think of David—young and ignored, yet chosen to defeat a giant.
Think of Paul—tormented by a “thorn,” yet used to build the early Church.
God doesn’t ask for polish; He asks for willingness. He’s not looking for the strongest. He’s looking for the surrendered.
Your insecurities, failures, and even flaws are not reasons to disqualify yourself. They are opportunities for God to shine through you. When you feel least capable, God is often most present. Your weakness is not a barrier—it’s a bridge to His strength.
What’s one weakness or insecurity you’ve believed disqualifies you? Write it down and surrender it to God in prayer today. Watch how He can transform it into a platform for His power.
Prayer for today: Father, thank You that You are not limited by my limitations. Where I see weakness, You see opportunity. Help me to stop hiding my flaws and start trusting that You can use them for Your glory. Fill the gaps I can’t fill. Make me brave enough to be used, just as I am. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
