Stay The Course
And the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and they observed the tomb and how His body was laid. Luke 23:55
Throughout God’s Word, we find people falling into some terrible times before they are used by God. Mary mother of Jesus is one such person. Yes, I know it is probably not the name that immediately comes to mind however, the hardship Mary endured still encourages us to this day to stay the course through all trials and challenges. We can make it through the storm with God on our side.
Mary walked a difficult path and the very action she was given was hard to follow. What Mary did not know at the time was that her actions of acceptance would lead her not onto the road paved with gold but onto a road in which she would continually face adversity, to which she would have to remain strong.
It’s important for us to understand that Mary stayed the course. Even when it seemed like she would be a teenage mother all alone, we do not read that she wanted to give up the promise growing inside her. Through her story, we too can be encouraged today to stay the course.
Fear can grip you, the route traveled often doesn’t make sense but if God has called you to it just know that He is able to see you through it!
