Standing Steadfast in God’s Strength, Part II
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58
Paul’s encouragement to the church in Corinth is clear: be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. In other words, don’t just stand still but be active in your faith, knowing that your labor is not in vain. When the enemy comes, we are not to retreat, but to remain alert, stand firm, and take our stand for the truth.
But how can we remain steadfast in our faith and avoid being swayed by the pressures of this ever-changing world? The key is in daily devotion to God’s Word. By spending time each day immersed in the Bible, we strengthen our foundation and grow in our understanding of God’s truth and character.
As we discussed yesterday, reading and meditating on God’s Word allows us to be filled with His truth. When we make His Word a priority, we are empowered to stand firm, knowing that we are grounded in His promises. We become bolder and more confident in our faith, and our hearts remain fixed on what we know to be true.
Prayer for today: Loving Father, teach me to rely on Your Word, knowing that it is my solid foundation. When challenges come, may I stand strong, trusting in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
