Standing Steadfast in God’s Strength
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58
The word steadfast means firmly fixed in place—immovable. To remain steadfast in our faith, we must first stand on a solid foundation. That foundation is God’s Word, and it’s His strength that enables us to stand firm. God has equipped us with everything we need to remain immovable, but we must choose to rely on His strength and wisdom.
When we immerse ourselves in God’s Word, it transforms us. We become more like Him, walking with purpose and clarity. But this transformation doesn’t happen by accident—it requires a conscious, determined choice to keep our eyes on God and to trust His guidance in every situation.
If we are told to stand firm, it’s because we will face opposition. There will be moments when the enemy challenges everything we believe to be true, and those moments can be unsettling. However, when those trials come, we must hold our ground. We cannot be shaken by the pressures and challenges of this world. Instead, we must remain steadfast, standing on the foundation of God’s Word and truth.
Prayer for today: Lord, thank You for the strength You give me to stand firm in my faith. Help me to remain steadfast, immovable, and always abounding in Your work. Amen
