Spirit Lead Me

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. John 16:13

Studies show that over 50% of people traveling each day require the use of a Global Positioning System, also known as a GPS. To add to this, most people are no longer using a car device for directions. Instead, GPS apps are far more popular these days. Most travelers, according to this study, simply enter the destination in the GPS and then proceed to the route trusting without a doubt that the directions will get them there safely. This means gone are the days of maps. No longer do we travel down the wrong street or stop in the local store to ask for directions. This reminds me of today’s verse. In John 16:13 it says, ‘When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you….’

As followers of Christ, we accept the Holy Spirit as the believer’s internal GPS. He guides you to the right path and instructs you regarding exits and dangers ahead. When you choose to ignore His instructions you end up stalled or moving in the wrong direction.
