Seek the Lord
Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face evermore! Psalm 105:4
All of us need help in this life. We are not sufficient in and of ourselves. But, thankfully our Lord has not left us to do this on our own. He, the Lord, can give us everything we need. We aren’t going to find that help in a new book or in a philosophy or in a new way of thinking. We are only going to find it in seeking the Lord and in His strength. God will be found by those who seek for Him with all of their hearts, after all you cannot find something if you aren’t looking.
The last part of this verse uses the word ‘evermore’, this means seeking the Lord is not a one-time thing. We are to seek Him all the time. Every season of life comes with new challenges, new mountains to climb, and new lessons to learn. With every season of life God is showing you something new and you do not want to miss out on what God is showing you. For this reason we must continually walk with God. Continue to learn from God. Keep on loving God.
The narrative running throughout the Gospels reveals the importance of keeping our eyes and attention on God, regardless of the situations being faced. Instead of looking at our physical surroundings and circumstances, we need to focus our attention on the Lord and His strength. Understanding that nothing can hinder His purpose or stop His promises.
Seeking and praying throughout every day for His presence makes all the difference.
