Rest in God
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
Some days it seems as if doubt is waiting for us the moment our feet hit the ground. You wake up and start your day and right there it creeps in. You try to shake the feeling and so you begin your daily devotional time, yet still, doubt and fear are sitting and kneeling at the bedside, pressing in. You must find the courage to press on. Consider the words written in Psalm 91, the Psalmist wrote, “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty…..He alone is my refuge, my place of safety….I trust him. He will rescue you from every trap…..He will cover you with his feathers….He will shelter you with his wings….His faithful promises are your armor and protection…..Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night….Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness….though a thousand fall at your side…..these evils will not touch you..” (Psalm 91:1-7)
Today remind yourself that God is our refuge, and you can find rest in Him. Look at Psalms 91 again and meditate on it today.
“This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust him.” My soul read it and peace came over me. Now I can say with confidence, “God is my refuge, He is the safest place I know. He is my God and I choose to trust Him.”
Prayer for today: Loving Father, thank You for being my refuge, for being a safe place for me. You indeed are my God. Today, I choose to put my trust in You. Amen.
