Praying earnestly
But while Peter was in prison the church prayed very earnestly for him. Acts 12:5
The word push means to physically move something or somebody out of your way. And so it makes sense that the letters P-U-S-H are used to encourage us to pray until something happens. Pray until something is moved. Pray until someone is moved. Until there is a move, don’t stop praying. Some may say, “Well I have been praying for a long time, and nothing still has happened.” Prayer allows us to remain confident in the truth that God is in control. This is why we keep praying. We must remain in consistent communication with the Father in season and out of season.
The Bible says that Peter was thrown into jail, and immediately the church started to pray. There are going to be times in life where living right just won’t make a difference, challenges will come your way even if you did not directly create the situation. This is where prayer becomes so important. The church prayed and prayed until something happened, and the Bible says that the Angel of God showed up in the prison. Scripture tells us when Peter stood up the chains came off.
Today be encouraged and keep praying. We need to pray and pray until something happens. The something that happens may not come in the package you expect, just trust that Father knows best.
