Perseverance
We may throw the dice, but the LORD determines how they fall. Proverbs 16:33
Despite the many ups and downs in Joseph’s life (sold into slavery, falsely accused of attempted rape by Potiphar’s wife and imprisoned, forgotten in prison for two more years by the chief cupbearer), Joseph was faithful, and never questioned God’s plan for him. We are told throughout his story that the Lord was with him. This is a good lesson for all leaders, who will go through many successes and failures in their careers. This is a good encouragement for us as we continue to live in a world that is filled with so many uncertainties as it surrounds COVID-19 and the return to normal.
Although he was spoiled by his father’s favoritism, and his own arrogance, Joseph eventually grew into a man of character. Joseph persevered. He remained the course despite the events which took place in his life. There is something encouraging when we watch God’s hand move despite the outlook. The crazier it looks the greater the outcome, according to God’s plan. When life gets a little crazy just know God is up to something. When it gets a little wild at your job, it means God is up to something. Don’t be so distracted by the mess that you forget the message. God is always in control.
