Peace and Good Will
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward me. Luke 2:14
On Christmas, we celebrate the Promise of the Savior – Jesus Christ.
Before Jesus came, God seemed distant, hidden in the Holy of Holies only accessible to the priest of that time. People were left wondering if their sacrifices would be enough to cover their sins. Worshipers doubted their salvation. But Jesus’ birth most importantly His death reconciled man back to God and for this reason we rejoice. The good news of Christmas is that God brought hope to all people, regardless of their background. That included Jews and Gentiles both. Jesus is the hope not just for you and me but the blessed hope of this world.
The birth of Jesus Christ brings hope to all mankind. Our hope in Him is solid and it’s real. Hope is a powerful force in our lives and Christmas brings hope. Christmas is also for those who have been longing for a Savior. They may have been devoted to their religious observance, but still understand that their only hope is for God to come to them. They have been waiting for God to show up. He has!
