Outrageous Faith
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. Hebrews 11:1-2
We all know men and women whose faith inspires us. The way God orchestrated this lesson for us should never grow old. Throughout God’s word we read stories of great faith produced by even greater trails. How do we know this? Just pick any character as written in Hebrews 11 read their story, and almost always it is those people whose faith has been made strong through adversity. More than any other chapter of the Bible, it shows us what faith looks like on the firing line. Faith that is never put to the test is only theoretical. We don’t need a textbook on faith. We need to see faith in action. We believe because we have been tested and know God to be true.
Question is – can you see past the expense to see the benefit? That is what faith is all about. Being willing to go through a season of struggle to strengthen the muscle of faith God has placed in you. You cannot quit. We are surrounded by great men and women who under enormous pressure, facing great odds, lived by faith and won God’s approval.
Read this chapter today to strengthen your faith muscle. God is good and He is still on the throne. Keep believing that He can and He will be glorified in your situation.
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father God, open our eyes, not to see the world more clearly, but to see You in our world. Open our eyes to see Your hand at work in our situation even if the only work you are doing is holding onto us Your children. Help us to understand nothing happens by accident. You are in control of it all. Help us to trust what we cannot see, and believe in Your invisible presence. Amen.
