My Keeper
The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. Psalm 121:5
Psalm 121 continues beautifully and today we continue onto verse 5 – ‘The Lord is your keeper’. I’ve been meditating on that awesome truth for the past week, to allow it to sink into my spirit. As it does I am reminded to trust in God’s providential care. Because my help comes from the maker of heaven and earth. God not only made the mountains. He made everything! When we’ve submitted our lives into the care of the Lord He becomes our keeper watching over us day and night.
We read in Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Jeremiah 10:12 says: “God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.” In other words the Maker of heaven and the earth has unlimited power, wisdom and understanding. He has all the resources and more to meet your every need. He’s got the whole world in his hands. And He is your helper. He’s watching over and protecting us 24/7. No matter what our trouble is, He’s our help, whenever we cry out to Him.
What a difference it makes to know that the Creator of the universe is your helper and your friend! How big is your problem today? Now compare it to the Maker of heaven and earth. I think it’s safe to say, “God’s got this.”
So I encourage you today to read Psalm 121 and let it sink into your spirit. Live in the present knowing that you belong to an all-powerful, ever present and, all knowing God. Lift up your eyes, look up, cry out to Him and allow the Lord to be your keeper. He’s with you, and knows all of the circumstances that you’re facing. Talk to God.
Prayer for today: Dear Lord, I want to thank You that You love me so much that You’re my keeper. You’re committed to me, and watching over me all of the time. Let that amazing truth sink into my spirit as I feast on Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
