Monday Morning Manna
Then Zedekiah the king sent and took him out. The king asked him secretly in his house, and said, “Is there any word from the Lord?” Jeremiah 37:11
There Is A Word from God – Is There A Word from God? These are the words spoken to us by our guest speaker, Rev. Celia Simms from Hope International Worship Center Bronx, NY. Even during these times we need to ask the same question that was asked in Jeremiah 37:17 “Is there any word from the Lord?” The answer to that question is a definite, “Yes.” It is true, we need a word from God that will get us through these times and that is exactly what Rev. Simms provided for us yesterday. Those who are in tune with God knows that He is still communicating to us today; it is not a new revelation or message, but a confirmation. Indeed it was a pleasure to have Rev Simms join in onto our Zoom line encouraging us with a word.
After a week of fasting and repentance, we are still saying ‘Lord, I am sorry for not trusting You.’ It is important now more than ever that we look to God for direction. During these times of uncertainty, all things COVID-19 related, so that we are not drifting, being tossed by the waves of worldly philosophies, the opinions of others, or by the standards of our society, or what comes on the news we must have a firm foundation. Colossians 2:7 tells us that we need to be, “Rooted and built up in him, established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”
Rev. Simms encouraged us to hear the words of the Lord. Isn’t it strange how we need a pandemic before we want to hear what God is saying?
Often we do not want to hear the Word when it is not reporting a blessing or something to soothe us, but we must remember Gods plan is higher than our ways and greater than our thoughts. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HEAR WHAT GOD IS SAYING TO YOU TODAY? It may not be what you want to hear, it may be a harsh word; it may require us to make some changes in our lives; but in order to be ready for His coming, and to receive all He has for us now, we need to hear what He is saying to us today.
John 10:27 ”My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” If we continue to obey God’s voice carefully and walk in His ways, victory shall be ours. We will not lose hope, even during perilous times our faith in God will remain.
