Monday Morning Manna
Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with hard questions. 2 She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart. 1 Kings 10:1-2
Every so often in your walk with God the believer wants to experience a move. A confirmation of God’s presence in their lives and this is just what happened in the life of Cornerstone Christian Educational Ministries through His servant Rev. Dr. Orville Harris. Yesterday Dr. Harris shared with us part I of a two part sermon series. Speaking from 1 Kings 10:1-13 Dr. Harris sermon titled – The Lord wants to bless you some more…..Come & See. Sermon aim – when you come to the King with your gifts and behold His majesty and splendor, we leave with more than you brought. He gives more than we desire and He gives testimony of His goodness towards us. That requires our praise, that says the half had not been told to us!
In 1 Kings 10 when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to prove him with hard questions. And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him all that was in her heart. The Queen Sheba came to test all that she heard about Solomon, she did not know that Solomon had much more in store for her than merely answering her questions. Queen Sheba came with a little of what she thought was good for Solomon however, Solomon gave her so much more than she bargained for.
With the scripture background Dr. Harris began with asking the question, “What is in your mind?” What hard questions do you have for God? The sovereignty of God’s election (His calling), and the freeness of His covenant mercy and grace, are set forth in Queen Sheba being brought to the knowledge of the truth and being taught and led by the Spirit of God.
This sermon was a call for everyone to come and see not the king but the King of Kings (God) in all His splendor. Ask from God the hard questions that you have about this life and He will give you the answers. Ask of God what you will because He is the God of wisdom. Come and see for the half had not yet been told. Come to God, He has access to endless recourse one that will never run out. When you come and sit, not only will you be filled with peace, your life will never be the same. Come and sit at Gods table, bring yourself, have an open mind and allow God to move within you.
