Love That Stoops Low
Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this. – John 13:7, NKJV
On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus does something unexpected, He kneels down and washes His disciples’ feet. The King… becomes a servant. This is the heart that Jesus Christ wanted us to see all along. Not just power, not just authority, but love. A love that serves, a love that humbles itself, and a love that gives without holding back. Even more powerful, He washed the feet of those who would fail Him:
Peter, who would deny Him
Judas, who would betray Him
And He still loved them.
Jesus didn’t just receive praise; He gave Himself away. So the question becomes, are you willing to love like that? To serve when it’s inconvenient. To forgive when it hurts. To stay faithful when others walk away.
Today I encourage you to ask the Father for strength to represent Him even as you are going through situations you don’t understand.
Prayer for today: Lord, teach me to love the way You love. Strip away pride, selfishness, and comfort. Help me serve with humility and extend grace even when it’s difficult. Amen.
