Light
Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness”.
It is wonderful when the sun begins to shine after days of rain. You appreciate the bright light so much more. Sometimes we can see beautiful shafts of light against a backdrop of grey. Then gradually, as the greyness moves away, we see the full light of the sun. It’s almost too brilliant to look at. The sun has finally arrived, today is going to be a good day.
We must never let the dark days drown out the light. All types of troubles came against Job, a severity of trials, but Job remained faithful and followed through with the right decisions and did not defile himself or turn his back on God. Eventually for Job, there was light.
The shadows of life were very dark and heavy, but Job knew that somewhere on the other side of all his troubles was a ray of hope. He could not see it, point to it, or feel it, but he knew it was there and he remained faithful.
Similar to Job, God’s light is all around us, even on the days we cannot see it.
