Junk Mail: What is admirable?
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8
What is admirable reflects the qualities of Christ—humility, kindness, patience, and selflessness. When we focus on what is admirable, we are looking at the positive examples set by others, especially those who walk faithfully with God. We are called to admire and emulate the Christlike character we see in others and aspire to grow in those qualities ourselves.
Focusing on what is admirable means recognizing the Christ-like qualities in others. Whether it’s someone who demonstrates extraordinary patience in difficult times, shows kindness when others might act harshly, or exhibits humility and selflessness in their service to others, these qualities are worthy of admiration. When we set our minds on these positive examples, we are reminded of God’s presence in their lives and the way He works through them to reflect His love and grace.
Today, identify someone today who exhibits admirable qualities—someone whose life reflects Christ’s character and pray for that person.
Prayer for today:
Loving Father,
Thank You for [insert the name of someone you admire and are praying for], whose life is a shining example of Your love, grace, and strength. I lift them up to You today, asking for Your continued strength to fill their heart and guide their actions. We thank You, Lord, for the admirable example they are to all of us. Strengthen them, encourage them, and surround them with Your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
