Joy Is The Way Out
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:4
We know the Scriptures proclaim that God is gracious, but many struggle to believe it. It’s often when we fall on His grace alone that we find the power to receive His gift of faith. James tells us to “consider it pure joy…” because he understands that we become strong through trials.
We draw strength from the Word of God. This is why reading the Bible and communing with God is essential to the believer’s life. The less we read and communicate with the Father, the more we are leaning on our own strength. When we step away from His presence, we rely on our own strength, which falters under pressure. But when we abide in Him, we tap into His infinite power. Just as a manufacturer tests a product to ensure it can handle its intended purpose, God allows us to be tested so we can bear the responsibilities and blessings He has prepared for us.
Are you facing a trial that feels overwhelming? How can you shift your perspective to see it as a part of God’s refining work in your life?
