Job – From Prosperity to Perseverance
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised. – Job 1:21, NIV
Job was righteous yet he lost his wealth, his children, and his health.
In the Book of Job 1, his flaw wasn’t wrongdoing. His mess was suffering without explanation.
He wrestled with grief. He questioned. He lamented.
But he did not abandon God.
By the end of the book, Job declares, “My ears had heard of You but now my eyes have seen You.” (Job 42:5)
Loss deepened revelation.
Purpose is not only built in prosperity it is forged in perseverance.
In this Year of Purpose, suffering may refine you, but it will not define you.
Prayer for today: Lord, when I don’t understand, help me still trust. Strengthen my faith in seasons of loss. Refine my character through trials. And bring restoration according to Your will. Let me see You more clearly through every test. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
