It’s Not a Feeling
For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes when he received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” We ourselves heard the voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain. 2 Peter 1:16-18
One of the greatest struggles and challenges you may find yourself facing in this life is the struggle to trust God. Trusting God is easy when you can see how everything is going to work out. When every ‘I’ is dotted and ‘T’ crossed. The challenge to trust comes when life happens and you go from the mountain top of joy into the valley of despair. How do you trust in the Lord when you don’t know what to do?
We are not called to figure it out, instead we are called to trust and allow God to work. If we place our trust in God then He won’t let us down. We remember the numerous times throughout our life and everyone that has forgotten about us, broke promises made, and now we just refuse to trust in God because we somehow associate that feeling with God and think He will do the same.
Many times we will wonder, as the community Peter spoke to ‘What did we get ourselves into?’ ‘Is the Bible just a made up myth?’ But if we continue to read and listen, we will be amazed by what we see and hear back from God. The solution is not us working it out with our minds, but trusting Him to work it out within our heart. Trust God to provide a solution, an answer despite what we believe. And this is how He will make the way clear before us.
Give God the driver’s seat. Trust in Him for God is eternal and won’t ever fail you.
