Hope Reminder
I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:11
Hope is a strong and confident expectation that God is real, present, and working for my good, even when life spins out of control. Jean Kerr says – “Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn’t permanent”. These words should remind us we are never alone and the feeling of loneliness you may be experiencing is not permanent!
We may try to exist without hope, but in the depths of our hearts the will to live remains strong. We know that one day something good will come. Failure to see beyond now, can lead to shattered dreams, disinterest, and isolation. So what can we count on to remain alive now? The promises of God. Ultimately our supreme hope is not in the things we can see, taste, and feel. Our deepest longing is to find meaning and peace in our relationship with God himself. The song writer says “My hope is built on nothingness than Jesus blood and righteousness”
Prayer for today: Lord give me hope in the areas of my life where I’ve quit believing that things could be any different. Give me wisdom to know the difference between my heart’s hopes and your plans for me. Even when you say no God, I want to trust you.
