Holy, Holy, Holy
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory. Isaiah 6:3
“Holy, Holy, Holy” is a hymn that exalts the holiness and majesty of God. Written by Reginald Heber, this hymn draws from the imagery of Revelation 4:8 and Isaiah 6:3, where the seraphim and elders proclaim God’s holiness: “Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee.” It calls us to worship God with reverence and awe, acknowledging His supreme holiness. God calls us to fix our eyes on Him and to see the beauty of His holiness, in the light of which the things of this earth grow dim.
To understand God as He is, perfect in power, love and purity, will necessarily change how we see our world disappointments, plans, and joys. God is both One and Many, Unity and Diversity. Let’s join all His works and praise His name, on earth, and sky, and sea.
Singing “Holy, Holy, Holy” brings us into the presence of the Almighty, reminding us of His greatness and our need to approach Him with humility and reverence.
Prayer for today: Almighty God, as we sing “Holy, Holy, Holy,” help us to recognize Your majesty and to worship You with reverence and awe. Fill our hearts with a deep sense of Your presence and Your holiness. Amen.
