Praise the Lord
Let every created thing give praise to the Lord. Psalm 148:5
In these days of confusion, uncertainty, doubt, and fear, it’s good to reflect that there’s a God in heaven, and He cares for every aspect of His creation, including you and me! Consider the Gospel hymn written in 1905 by Civilla Martin – His Eye Is on the Sparrow:
Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart feel lonely
And long for heaven and home
When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches over me
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me
I sing because I’m happy
I sing because I’m free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches
I know He watches
I know He watches me
Often we find it hard to accept that God cares for us and it leads us to doubt. Today there is so much in the world today which can distract us from keeping our eyes on the one true God and believing that He watches over you. I encourage you to reflect on the lyrics and words written in Matthew 6 to remind of Gods care.
