Grace in the Middle of the Mess
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God. Romans 8:28
Joshua 10 reveals something beautiful: God worked in the middle of a mess Joshua created. The battle Joshua faced existed because of his earlier mistake. Yet God stepped into that situation and gave victory. This reminds me of my favorite verse throughout the Bible, And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God. Romans 8:28
Romans 8:28 does not say all things are good. Some situations are painful, difficult, and entirely unnecessary. But God has the power to weave even those circumstances into His greater purposes.
The battlefield created by Joshua’s mistake became the stage for one of God’s greatest miracles. Your mistakes may have consequences, but they do not have the final word. God’s grace still works. God’s mercy still reaches. God’s purposes still stand.
Is there a situation you believe is beyond redemption? I challenge you to bring it before our merciful Father.
Prayer for today: Father, thank You for Your redeeming grace. Thank You that You are able to work even in situations I have complicated. Help me trust that You are still writing my story and that Your purposes are greater than my failures. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
