God’s Guidance, Part II
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:3
The Hebrew word translated paths means a well-defined, well-worn trail. That indicates again how stupid sheep are, because even when the trail is well laid out, they still need a shepherd. Someone who will guide and advise. The shepherd knows the trails. He has been there before, and the sheep trust him. Yet there is also a part we too must play. Obedience to these instructions is vital to our safe arrival. Similar, we ask God to teach us His ways so that as we journey through this land we know how to go.
On this road called life, we cannot allow anyone other than the Lord to be the navigator who shows us the direction we need to go. And we cannot allow anyone else to take control of our lives and take us to places God never intended for us. If you are not being led by God you will end up shipwreck.
Psalm 25:4 says, ‘Teach me your ways, O Lord; make them known to me.’ Learning to always trust Him and to always be obedient to His directions is the ultimate key to having the blessing of God on each and every area of our lives.
