God’s Guidance
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:3
I think the most anxiety-producing factor in the world today is uncertainty about the future. We all want to know what will happen tomorrow, and the next day? Will I marry the love of my life? When will I have kids? Will it be a boy or a girl? Is this job for me? Is there good health in my future? And the questions go on. There are decisions we must make that bear not only upon our own lives but also upon the lives of everyone with whom we are associated. My life touches my family and my neighbors and my others. We are constantly making decisions. How do we know that we are making the right ones? Decisions can be crucial and frustrating!
In our Scripture for today we are encouraged to come to the Lord for his navigational instructions and place all our expectations in Him. In God we can find the path He has set out before us for the next season of our lives. Without His guidance we will always finish up stranded a long way away from shore.
You can be super talented or super intelligent, but the absence of God in your life makes you lonely because it leaves a void that only He can fill. Your journey might be loaded with success and great accomplishments, but you must remember that life is a two course meal. We are indeed here for today but we prepare for tomorrow. We must use our actions “here” to determine where “there” is. As a matter of fact, there won’t be a “there” if our “here” is not in communion with God.
Prayer for today: Help me Lord, to not only listen to Your voice but to obey Your instructions. Amen.
