God Show up
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually sick. Psalm 105:4
Wouldn’t it be great to know how God is going to work out the situations in your life? Wouldn’t you just love to be assured God is opening this exact door, and you don’t have to knock on a single other door? It would be nice … but I’ve found God really doesn’t work that way. He doesn’t magically appear with a booming voice, revealing every detail. Instead, He called us into a relationship with Him and once we start to grow in that relationship we experience God’s presence and His peace.
Joyce Meyer writes “One of the most important lessons we can learn is to seek God’s face (who He is) and not just His hand (what He can do for us).” When we understand that seeking God above all else is more important than we can live the life of abundance that God has in store for us.
But Scripture teaches that we are supposed to seek God’s face, his presence, every day, all day. Psalm 105:4 says, “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”
We are called into a new season of maturity. God’s presence always precedes the move. God will make a way. God will turn things around. But, before He does we must seek His face. We must seek to do His will and move in His way, and not just seek what He can do for us.
Prayer for today: Loving Father Dear God, I am sorry for not trusting You. Forgive me for seeking all these ‘things’ and putting them before your presence. Amen
