God My Rock – Part 2
Turn your ear to listen to me; rescue me quickly. Be my rock of protection, a fortress where I will be safe. Psalm 31:2
Jesus is our Rock and security, and no matter what storms may come in our lives, and He warns us that they will come, He will be our firm foundation, who will never shift.
Jesus said that those who hear His words and put them into practice are like a wise man who built his house upon the rock. ‘The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock’. Those who hear His words, but choose not to obey them are like a man who built his house on sand. ‘The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash’ (Matthew 7:24-27).
The foundation we build our lives upon will determine the strength of its structure. We mustn’t forget that.
If you are founded on the Rock, you won’t fall. Your floors might shake, you probably would rather your storm hadn’t come. But, if you continue to trust Jesus in the midst of it, you’ll find Him to be a strong foundation.
Prayer for today: Dear Jesus, I’m so glad You’re the Rock which I have chosen to build my life on. I put my trust in You. In your name, Amen.
