God hears when you speak, Part II
With my voice I cry to the Lord, and He hears and answers me out of His holy hill. Psalm 3:4
Speaking is how God created the universe. We know this because in the very first book of the Bible we read that the Lord spoke creation into existence. Now we must understand this truth, since we are made in God’s image, our words carry much weight in the spiritual realm, especially when it is in a cry to our Loving Father.
When we cry out to the Lord in prayer, we are not shouting into the void or whispering into the wind. We are addressing the God of all creation, the one who reigns from His holy mountain. He is the source of our strength and our salvation, the one who promises to be our ever-present help in times of trouble.
No matter what trials we may face, we can take comfort in knowing that we are never alone. God stands ready to answer our prayers and to provide us with the refuge and protection we need. As we place our trust in him, he will surround us with his peace, guarding our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank you for being our refuge and our strength in times of trouble. Help us to remember that we can always cry out to you, knowing that you hear our prayers and will answer us from your holy mountain. Grant us your peace, O Lord, and shelter us under the shadow of your wings. In Jesus’ name, amen.
