Go and Tell
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Mark 16:15
The task of evangelism, or telling others about Jesus, was the first thing that Jesus asked His followers to do as He left earth. Telling others about what Jesus has done for them is one of the most important things that we can do with our time. We have been given the greatest gift of all—eternal life with God. But that free gift is freely available to the rest of the world as well.
We may not all be called to preach from a pulpit, but each of us has a unique sphere of influence—a circle of family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances—who need to hear the message of salvation. Whether through our words, actions, or attitudes, we have the opportunity to be ambassadors for Christ, reflecting His love and grace to those around us.
Today, let us embrace the call to share the Good News with boldness and courage. Let us go forth into all the world, knowing that we carry within us the message of hope and salvation. And may we trust in the promise of Jesus’ presence, knowing that He goes with us every step of the way.
So, take some time today to pray for those in your life who do not know the hope that Jesus gives. Pray for their salvation, but also pray for opportunities to share your own faith story with them.
Telling others about Jesus doesn’t mean you have to stand on a street corner shouting, but it does mean you should seek out intentional and meaningful conversations with others. When we tell others about the new life and new Kingdom available to them, we are continuing the work that Jesus left us to do.
Prayer for today: Dear Lord, thank You for the privilege of sharing the Good News with others. Help us to be bold and courageous in proclaiming Your truth to everyone we meet. May Your Spirit empower us and Your presence go before us as we seek to fulfill Your Great Commission. Amen
